Salesforce Design System

Design Role:

  • As a UX designer, I was responsible for envisioning how the Salesforce design system would turn out. This included creating wireframes, prototypes, and mockups that would allow the client and SF dev team to see value in bringing design before development

Challenge:

  • The biggest challenge I faced was that the client and SF dev team were spinning wheels. They had different ideas about what the design system should look like, and they were unable to come to a consensus.

Solution:

  • I was able to bring the client and Salesforce dev team together by introducing a minimum design cycle. This cycle involved me working closely with both teams to create a set of wireframes that would meet everyone’s needs. Once the wireframes were approved, I was able to move on to creating prototypes and mockups.

The minimum design cycle was a success because it allowed the client and SF dev team to see what they were paying for. This helped them to come to a consensus on the design system, and it allowed the project to move forward.
